The genesis of Rvow
Before my heart was in watchmaking, it was sailing the oceans. I began my professional career as a tactician skipper, defying the waves in inshore sailing races, particularly in the world of match racing and the America's Cup.
At the time, my partners were icons of Swiss watchmaking: Omega, then Tag Heuer. It was an encounter that increased my admiration for these timepieces, which are essential in my competitive world.
But it was in February 1995 that my life took a turn for the worse. Off Rottnest Island, Australia, the ocean revealed its distress and our crew had to navigate in the middle of an ocean of rubbish... cans floating as far as the eye could see...
That nightmarish vision left an indelible mark on my mind. It was the catalyst for a revelation, a call to action. A sea that used to be a symbol of freedom and purity became a reflection of our negligence and waste.
This ‘out of the ordinary’ experience was the starting point for my deep commitment to fighting this threat and protecting our oceans - the playground for us all.
And that's how my journey took a new course - one of action!

This unlikely encounter gave rise to a determination and an entrepreneurial idea: to create a first collection of watches in recycled aluminium.
On the strength of this first edition, I created Rvow with a new vision in mind.
Working with experts in watchmaking, the space industry and eco-design, I have created a range of innovative and daring watches.
Rvow is a Swiss-made timepiece made from aluminium, fishing net and recycled PET. A successful gamble, combining elegance, innovation and respect for the environment.
On the strength of this first edition, I created Rvow with a new vision in mind.
