The Genesis of Rvow
Before my heart beat for watchmaking, it sailed to the rhythm of the oceans. I began my professional career as a tactical skipper, challenging the waves in inshore sailing races, notably in the world of match racing and the America’s Cup.
During those sailing years, my partners were Swiss watchmaking icons like Omega, and Tag Heuer. This partnership deepened my admiration for these timepieces, which are essential in my competitive world.
But it was in February 1995 that my life took a turn. Off the coast of Rottnest Island, Australia, the ocean revealed its distress, and our crew had to navigate through an ocean of waste… aluminum cans floating as far as the eye could see…
This nightmarish vision left an indelible mark on my mind. It was the catalyst for an awakening, a call to action. A sea, normally a symbol of freedom and purity, had become a reflection of our negligence, our wastefulness.
This “extra-ordinary/out of the ordinary” experience would be the starting point of my deep commitment to combat this threat, to protect our oceans, our playground for all.
And so, my journey took a new direction, one of action!

From this unlikely encounter, a determination and an entrepreneurial idea were born: to create a first collection of watches from upcycled aluminum.
Buoyed by this inaugural edition, it is with a renewed vision in mind that I bring Rvow to life.
By surrounding myself with renown watchmakers, space industry experts and eco-designers, I have created a range of innovative and daring watches.
Rvow is a Swiss-made timepiece, the watch and the band crafted entirely from recycled materials like aluminum, fishing nets and PET. A remarkable success that combines elegance, innovation, and environmental respect.
Creating Rvow is, for me, a way to contribute, to challenge existing systems, and to find new, more virtuous business models.
